Overview
As your needs evolve, you may want to move to a different QR Dex plan. Whether you are upgrading to unlock more features or adjusting to a plan that better fits your current usage, the process is quick and can be completed in just a few clicks. This guide explains how plan changes work, including what happens to your billing when you switch mid-cycle.
How to Change Your Plan
Follow these steps to upgrade or downgrade your QR Dex subscription:
-
Go to your team page.
Click Team in the top navigation bar to open your team page.
-
Click Change Plan.
Click the Change Plan button to view available plans.
-
Choose a new plan.
You will see a comparison of available plans. Click the Change Plan button next to the plan you want to switch to. Review the features included in the new plan to confirm it meets your needs.
-
Confirm the change.
A summary screen will show you what is changing, including any pricing adjustments. Click Confirm to finalize the switch.
When Upgrades Take Effect
When you upgrade to a higher-tier plan, the change takes effect immediately. You will gain instant access to the additional features, higher QR code limits, and any other benefits included in the new plan. There is no waiting period and no need to log out and back in.
Because your upgrade happens mid-billing cycle, you are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current period. This means you only pay the difference between your old plan and your new plan for the days remaining until your next billing date. On your next renewal, you will be billed the full price of the new plan.
When Downgrades Take Effect
When you downgrade to a lower-tier plan, the change does not happen immediately. Instead, it is scheduled to take effect at the end of your current billing period. This means you keep full access to all the features of your current plan until the period expires.
For example, if you are on the Growth plan and you downgrade to Starter on the 10th of the month but your billing cycle renews on the 28th, you will continue to enjoy Growth features until the 28th. On that date, your plan will switch to Starter and you will be billed at the Starter rate going forward.
What Happens to Your QR Codes
Your existing QR codes are not deleted when you change plans. However, if you downgrade to a plan with a lower QR code limit, you should be aware of the following:
- All existing QR codes will continue to redirect and function normally.
- If you exceed the QR code limit of your new plan, you will not be able to create new QR codes until you are within the limit.
- Features that are not available on the lower plan, such as advanced analytics or integrations, will become inaccessible after the downgrade takes effect.
