Keeping your payment method up to date ensures your QR Dex subscription renews without interruption. Whether you have a new credit card, an expiring card, or simply want to switch to a different payment method, you can update your details at any time from your team page. This guide walks you through the process and covers what to do if a payment fails.
How to Update Your Payment Method
Follow these steps to update the credit card on file for your QR Dex subscription:

Go to your team page.
Click Team in the top navigation bar to open your team page.

Find your credit card details.
In the Billing Information section, you will see your current card details displayed with the last four digits and expiration date.

Click Edit.
Click the Edit link next to your credit card details to open the payment form.

Enter your new credit card details.
Fill in your new card number, expiration date, CVC code, and billing address. The form is powered by Stripe, so your card information is handled securely and never stored on QR Dex servers.

Save your changes.
Click Save to confirm the update. Your new payment method will be used for all future charges, including your next subscription renewal.
Accepted Payment Methods
QR Dex accepts the following major credit and debit cards:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a leading payment processor trusted by millions of businesses worldwide. Your card details are encrypted end-to-end and are never stored directly on QR Dex servers. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, which is the highest level of security certification in the payments industry.
What Happens If a Payment Fails
If a subscription payment fails -- for example, due to an expired card, insufficient funds, or a declined transaction -- here is what you can expect:

Email notification.
You will receive an email from QR Dex notifying you that the payment could not be processed. The email includes a direct link to update your payment method.

Automatic retry.
Stripe will automatically retry the charge a few times over the following days. If one of these retries succeeds, no further action is needed on your part.

Grace period.
Your subscription remains active during the retry period. Your QR codes will continue to work, and you will not lose access to any features while the payment issue is being resolved.

Subscription suspension.
If all retry attempts fail and you do not update your payment method, your subscription may eventually be suspended. This means your dynamic QR codes could stop redirecting. To avoid this, update your card as soon as you receive the failed payment notification.
Viewing Your Billing History
You can view your complete billing history, including past invoices and payment receipts, from your team page. Each invoice is available for download as a PDF, which is useful for expense reporting or accounting purposes.
Who Can Update Payment Details
Only team owners can update the payment method on a QR Dex account. If you are a team member and need the payment details changed, reach out to your team owner and ask them to update the card from the team page. This restriction ensures that billing changes are controlled by the person responsible for the account.
